Previous Post20220307. This postmodern fire station references elements of classical residential architecture including a gable, tower and portico. The brick colours match nearby buildings. Interestingly, the facades opposite seem postmodern too.Next Post20220308. The googie gas bar (Canadian Tire, Rexdale, 1968). Googie architecture can also be called expressionist, mid-century modern, space age, Populuxe and Doo Wop and originates at the defunct Googies Coffee Shop in Hollywood. The style features curvilinear geometric shapes and upswept roofs.
